Keith Covington is a founding Principal of Common Ground, an urban design and planning firm based in Franklin, Tennessee.  For the past twenty-five years Keith has guided developers and municipalities on how to build timeless regions, cities, towns and neighborhoods.   

Prior to starting his firm in 2006, Keith was the Director of the Metro Nashville Planning Department’s Design Studio where he helped reinvent Nashville’s approach to planning, public engagement and coding.

Keith earned his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Tennessee and his Masters of Architecture in Urban Design at the University of Miami.  Keith is a founding member of the Urban Guild.
